Seattle megahouse of the day - Phinney Ridge

I’ve never quite seen a design like this one, it’s like four home designs all melted together  - spanning from left to right I see ‘farmhouse, tool shed, modern, skinny townhome.

It seems that a lot of the design and size of this project was driven by the incorporation of an Accessory Dwelling Unit: http://web1.seattle.gov/DPD/permitstatus/Project.aspx?id=6125903

The connector passageway between the two main structures is likely in place just to meet the Attached Accessory Dwelling code.

Upside of the situation is that the ADU will provide space for someone seeking rental housing in the neighborhood.

It seems as if the scale and mass of the project would, or at least could have been reduced if Detached Accessory Dwelling Unit’s (DADU) were allowed city wide instead of just in SE Seattle.
