VintageSeattle.org - ‘Visualizing the Emerald City’s Past’

On a good day, you’d call me a sentimentalist. (On a bad day, that’ll change to NIMBY).

However, this is a good day, and VintageSeattle.org is a great blog. And not just for sentimentalists, but for anyone who wants to learn about and reclaim some of Seattle’s history.

For example, here’s a VintageSeattle.org post about a 1908 Craftsman fixer-upper for sale. Some may say that ‘progress’ commands us to tear down and replace tired-old development like this with something they’d find at a Home Depot general contractor’s 101 class…

…but those folks don’t generally think about the opportunities to reuse and refurbish which often times lie within.

I am always amazed to see a little house like this that opens up to an amazing interior - wonderful wood work! Love your site so much!
